Strength and power training are key to keeping your muscles functioning at a high level as you get older. n one study, middle-aged men and women who did just one to three strength workouts a week, totaling less than an hour, were 40% to 70% less likely to have a heart attack or stroke during the 10- to 15-year study than if they did no strength training. And studies of people in their 70s, 80s, and 90s have shown that it’s possible to rebuild muscle and strength even at these ages
