Listen....It's Not You, It's the Menopause
I had a client, let's call her Alex, who thought she was crazy! She told me she could no longer sleep comfortably nor could she remember things like she once could and she was warm all the time especially at night. She experienced phantom aches and felt unmotivated to go to work, take care of the home, exercise and she felt unattractive due to the physical changes. She felt impatient regularly and on top of all of that when she tried to explain it to her husband he literally said, "you're crazy" .
I felt so bad for her but based on my experience with myself and experience with other clients in her age range, I had a clue as to what was happening.
I had to delicately tell her...."Alex, you may be going through menopause. It's out of my scope of practice to diagnose you but based on my experience you may want to chat with your medical provider."
Three weeks later...."Donna, my doctor said I'm in peri-menopause, I told my husband that I wasn't crazy!"
Alex was so relieved! She had assurance that it wasn't just in her head and once she started implementing some of my Menopause management tools things at home, work and her commitment to her exercise regimen improved.
Women can experience a range of health changes in the years before and after menopause however when you understand and prepare for the transition, you'll move through it with more ease.
During the Fight Menopause Like a Champ webinar we'll discuss the stages of menopause, symptoms and discover new ways to enhance our health and fitness.
I'm looking forward to seeing you in the meeting on Saturday, February 5, 2022, 11-12:30pm
